The Academy delivers international qualifications in Fashion, Interior, Graphic and Jewellery Design. AOD is approved by the Ministry of Tertiary and Vocational Education of Sri Lanka, to conduct higher learning programs. It is accredited by Landon Examinations, BTEC Edexcel International a Leading provider of UK qualifications around the world.
The Academy of Design was born to address one of today’s major needs: Higher education in the field of design. It is the first of its kind in Sri Lanka and fills a great void in the country. The Academy commits all its recourses to one area of study the study of visual arts and design, within which the school focuses on Fashion Design, Interior Design and Graphic Design.
The Academy’s main objective is to install into the minds of its students conceptual thinking supported by the necessary technical knowledge to enable them to generate meaningful designs. Students will find as inspiriting faculty of comprising of internationally trained professional with board experience in their respective fields. Students will study amidst the buzz of downtown Colombo, surrounded by the most important art galleries, shops and cafes to draw inspiration from. Students will develop their own creativity and formal language, while at the same time learning to appreciate art design as a human expression of life.
