Institute of Engineering Technology (IET) is a diploma awarding institute in Sri Lanka in the field of Engineering. Institute awarding the National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES). National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES) is a fully recognized diploma in the government and the private sectors  that has been established in the Institute of Engineering Technology premises at Katunayake. The IET was established as TTI  in 1985 to educate and train middle level engineers regarded to different fields.

The City School of Architecture was set up by SLIA to offer a career in Architecture based on “Learn while you work concept”.  The course is tailor-made for talented individuals and allows students to pursue an academic career in Architecture whilst apprenticing under a Chartered Architect. Asian Aviation Centre (Pvt) Limited was established in 1985 to operate a flying training school to provide ab-initio training. In 1990, the provision of training was extended to include training of Aircraft Maintenance personnel. Asian Aerospace College and the Academy of Aeronautical Engineering were formally established in 1995 providing training and education opportunity for Sri Lankan youth to become Pilots and Aircraft Engineers.

The Textile Training & Services Centre (TT&SC) and Clothing Industry Training Institute (CITI) are two organizations which provide Training & Consultancy and Testing services to the Textiles, Garments and allied Industries. Merger of the two Institutions in to one organisation as “Sri Lanka Institute of Textiles and Clothing” is planned for the future .

•  Diploma in Textile Colouration and Finishing, Duration – 84 days (w/ends), Entry Requirement – G.C.E. (A/L) Chemistry, 2 years industrial experience.
  Medium - English
•  Certificate in Testing and Quality Assurance of Textiles and Garments, Duration – 34 Sundays, Entry Requirement – G.C.E.(A/L) Science, Medium - English
•  Certificate in Fabric Technology, Duration – 24 Sundays, Entry Requirement –G.C.E.(A/L) Science 2 passes, Medium – Sinhala/English.
•  Certificate course in Knitting Technology, Duration –24 days (w/days), Entry Requirement –G.C.E.(A/L) or G.C.E. (O/L) with 2 years industrial experience.

The Textile Training & Services Centre (TT&SC) and Clothing Industry Training Institute (CITI) have been merged as ‘Sri Lanka Institute of Textile and Apparel (SLITA)

The Diploma in textile Technology and Diploma in Clothing technology are accredited to the Licentiateship of The Textile institute, Manchester, which is the international body for Textile Technologists.

The state of the art Textile Testing Laboratory of TTSC is accredited for ISO 17025:2005 and certified to ISO 9001:2000. In addition it is accredited with eleven EU based retailers including Bhs, Tesco, Mothercare etc., and Limited brand USA.
